NEW DELHI: Over 200 senior bureaucrats, service officers,
legal luminaries and business leaders from India will interact
with 50 industry and government representatives from the US
to discuss in-depth issues relating to cyber security, IPR
and privacy on and April 18 and April 19 in New Delhi.
The
occasion for this meeting is the Indo-US Cyber Security
Forum's Legal Seminar. The National Security Council
Secretariat of India (NSCS) and the Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII) are jointly organizing the seminar, which is a
government industry partnership.
The seminar's primary
focus will be the legal aspects of cyber security, IPR and
privacy. The aim would be to showcase how far legal and
judicial system and enforcement agencies are geared towards
addressing these issues and how much more ground needs to be
covered to achieve globally acceptable
standards.

Narayan would deliver the keynote address on 18 April. Some of
the topics that would be covered during the two days include
Cyber Laws and Indian Legal Environment, Indo-US Cooperation
in High Technology, Cyber Security and International Law,
Cyber crime control mechanisms, Legal Framework for
E-Governance and E-Commerce and Industry Resilience Issues.
The Indo-US Cyber Security Forum is a part of the
Indo-US High Technology Group a public private partnership
between India and the US set up to discuss and implement ways
and means of increasing cooperation between the two countries
in high technology areas. The legal seminar will be followed
by cyber forensic workshop on April 20- April 21 and CERT
Seminar on April 21- April 22 under the Indo-US Cyber Security
Forum.
